| ADULT SERVICES
ELIGIBILITY
|
| Any Allen County resident, 16 years of age or older, who is mentally
retarded or has another developmental disability which results in significant
functional limitations is eligible for County Board services.
|
| Under Ohio Law, developmental disabilities include the following
characteristics:
|
|

Limitation resulting from a documented disability must be manifest prior to
the age of twenty-two
|
|
Must not be a sole diagnosis of mental illness and must be likely to
continue indefinitely.
|
|
Must result in significant functional limitation in at least three of the
following areas required for Eligibility: |
|
|
Self Care -Communication |
|
|
Self Direction -Mobility |
|
|
Learning -Economic Self-Sufficiency
|
