Help Me Grow - Questions and Answers
What is Help Me Grow?
A program for Ohio's expectant parents/families, newborns, infants and toddlers that coordinates services so that children start school healthy and ready to learn.
Who is eligible?
- Women pregnant with their first child
- First time parents whose child is under 6 months of age
- Families with a child under 3 years of age with a medical diagnosis or developmental delay
What does Help Me Grow Provide?
- A central intake and referral site for Allen County (419-221-0014 or 1-800-975-5438)
- Quarterly community developmental screenings in the areas of: health, sight, speech, behavior, movement, hearing, teeth, and autism.
How will Help Me Grow help my family?
- Provide information about your child's shots, diet, and growth during home visits
- Bring together special services such as prenatal visits, home visits and other help for your family
- Provide checks for all areas of growth, especially if there is a suspected delay
- If you need ongoing services, a service coordinator will help your family develop a plan. This plan is called the Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP). The IFSP is a roadmap to help meet your family's needs and goals.
What will happen if I call Help Me Grow?
The person answering the phone will need to know your name, address, phone number, your child's name and birth date. They may ask what your concerns or needs for your child are.

Whether your family has medical, educational, social, emotional or financial needs, Help Me Grow staff will help you find and get services.
Services are confidential and available to families at no cost, no matter what your income.
