MARIMOR INDUSTRIES TRIM TEAM COMMITTED TO GETTING FIT.

LIMA, OHIO –   In 2005, a new program was introduced to individuals enrolled in Adult Services at Marimor Industries, Inc.  This program, “Trim Team,” was developed to adhere to the agency’s committment of promoting optimum life performance by all people with developmental disabilities by stressing concepts of maintaining a healthy lifestyle through nutritional education and diet.

Throughout the year, 40 members met once a week to review goals and discuss accomplishments and challenges.  The program was a huge success and, by the end of December, many participants had exceeded their personal expectations and combined to lose a total of 682.5 pounds.

In January 2006, the program was expanded to focus on portion control, as well as exercise.  The team now meets on a daily basis and has seen enrollment increase.  Over the last two months, the “Trim Team” has risen to the new challenges of the year and has succeeded in losing 214 pounds.

Marimor Industries, Inc., located at 2450 Ada Rd., Lima, Ohio, is a private, non-profit corporation whose primary function is the provision of quality vocational and employment services and opportunities to people with developmental disabilities.
